Ludo is a street artist / public interventionist (is this a word?) from Paris who combines images of nature and city/urbanization/technology in order to create new hybridized works of art. He explains this a little bit in the video at the end of this post.
These works take on greater significance as one thinks about the relationship between nature and city. Is city part of nature or is it an entirely separate entity? What impact does the city have on nature or vice versa? What is our role as humans in this relationship? Enjoy!

I think there is a balance between nature and city or civilization. Well there should be a balance. No one wants a world of parking lots but we can't go back to a time of fields.
Examining both helps us find the beauty in the other. When we were in New York central park was refreshing but that experience had more meaning because we'd been climbing all over the city. But leaving the park and going back to the streets you can also appreciate the subtlety of architecture. So I am just rambling now.

Don't get me started Steve. Let me just say that you'd have to start with what 'nature' is and go from there. As far as the artist's project is concerned, I really like his aesthetic but his philosophy seems a little superficial (even after he admits as much). I would be interested to look at his work in regard to where he puts his work. As he puts it, he doesn't want to bother those who already have it hard which makes me wonder what his art is supposed to 'do'. Also it is neat to consider his project in context or in place. Paris which (I think) has a certain 'sculpted' relationship between its pollared (heavily pruned) trees and its symmetrically tree-lined boulevards already shows a 'modification' of nature, so how does this artist's 'modification' differ? etc.
