Shaquille O'neal is now a Phoenix Sun. He flew to the valley last night for a physical and the
Suns had a press conference this morning to introduce him as the newest player of the team. Here are some articles about it here, here, and here. A lot of the articles have been negative but I've been able to fine some positive ones. The second link to the article by Scoop Jackson from ESPN is a good positive view of the trade. Here is a negative one.
All I have to say is that the Suns weren't going to win a championship the way they were playing and the way they were composed. The lack of interior defense against the centers of the West's elite was an issue that needed to be addressed. Plus, the inconsistency of Phoenix this year (2 losses to Minnesota and 1 to Miami) may have been in part to some lack of desire, focus, and locker room chemistry.
Let's just hope that Shaq can be a good role player and a good teammate and then the Suns may be enjoying their first ever NBA Championship.
